Rick Rutkowski of Optimum
Performance Physical Therapy has been my physical therapist
since 2006. It has been my honor and privilege to be under
his care. Since 1995, I have undergone six spinal surgeries.
In addition to the physical therapy given in the hospital, I
have also been hospitalized at Burke Rehabilitation and
Helen Hayes hospital. Without question, Rick Rutkowski is
the finest physical therapist that has treated my neck and
back. He is extremely well versed on issues affecting the
spine and he continually stays up to date on cutting edge
issues affecting his profession. Rick is an asset to his
practice and his profession as a whole. I would and do

I am a mother of a 13 year old
girl who had a shoulder injury (impingement), sustained from
a dance recital. She has for 10 years taken Tap, Jazz and
Ballet. For the last 5 years she has been involved in
competitive dance. She woke up one morning beyond tears. She
could not even lift her right arm over her head. Her
shoulder motion was completely restricted, and she was
almost crippled in any dance movement she tried to execute.
After seeing an orthopedic surgeon, we were told that with
physical therapy she could resume all aspects of dance, and
would avoid any future surgery.
I did some research on
physical therapy facilities in our area and came across
Optimum Performance. Little did I know that upon
deciding to use their facility for my daughter’s
rehabilitation that it would be for us, a REMARKABLE
journey. They took her under their care with extreme
dedication, knowledge & the utmost concern with informative
advice. My daughter was extremely comfortable with the
facility. From start to finish Rick and staff worked with
her “One on One” to achieve the goals of getting her out of
her discomfort, stronger than before, and back to normal
usage of her shoulder. Each new hurdle they encountered
during her treatment was not a problem, and was conquered
with great success. My daughter has now resumed her full
dance schedule. I’m delighted because she is pain free with
movement now.
Rick and his staff go the
“Extra Mile” in every aspect of treatment. They truly are a
“ONE OF A KIND” facility. Seeing my daughter’s
amazing progress unfold literally before my eyes is a true
blessing.
Rick, I want to personally
thank you and ALL of your staff for their
overwhelming professionalism. Most importantly my daughter
was treated as an individual, and all her needs were top
priorities. As for anyone I meet in the future that may need
physical therapy, the only two words they will hear me say

Back in March of 2009, I injured my back while on duty.
After several months of Pain Management and Chiropractic
Care, the pain was only getting worse and was now causing
intense pain radiating down my left leg. My physician then
sent me for an MRI. The MRI showed that I had several
herniated discs in my back. I knew then I couldn’t continue
to work. My physician then gave me several options,
including surgery. For me, surgery was the last option. He
then suggested Physical Therapy. I called several Physical
Therapists in the area and explained my situation to them.
All were willing to help but, they were unable to see me for
several weeks. That’s when I called Optimum Performance PT
of Warwick. They were able to give me an appointment with in
a few days. My first appointment was with Rick Rutkowski.
During the initial exam, he made me feel confident that he
could help me. Which truthfully, when I walked in there I
thought that I was just avoiding the inevitable surgery.
But, after meeting Rick’s team of Physical Therapists, I
felt even more confident that they could help me. Now, with
after only a few weeks of PT, I am back to work and feeling
stronger every day. Rick and his staff beyond relieving the
intense pain I was feeling, gave me the therapy I needed in
a kind and always caring way. If a family member or friend
was in need of Physical Therapy, I would highly recommend
Optimum Performance PT to them.

In August of this year I
underwent a total knee replacement. After 2 weeks of
inpatient rehab, I was discharged. While in rehab, Optimum
Performance Physical Therapy was highly recommended to me

I feel so grateful to have
been referred to Optimum Performance by my pulmonary
physician following many hospitalizations and time on a
respirator. I was in sad shape when I arrived on their door
step. I am awaiting a double lung transplant and have to be
on oxygen twenty-four hours a day. Optimum Performance is
responsible for changing my life, physically, mentally and
emotionally.
In Optimum Performance’s
Respiratory Program I am receiving individualized help with
breathing exercises, training to maximize my endurance and
overall physical well being. Over the course of many months
I have worked up to about 90 minutes of interval training on
a variety of machines, weights and therapeutic bands.
My progress is monitored
carefully and adjusted to my growing level of endurance and
strength. Oxygen levels and heart rate are measured and
recorded after each activity to ensure a healthy balance
while exercising.
The staff is very caring,
friendly and attentive; the relaxed atmosphere is a joy to
experience. I love just walking in the door! I recommend
Optimum Performance to everyone I meet. A HUGE thank you
Rick and all the staff for giving me back my joy of living
and the strength to handle my transplant surgery when I am
lucky enough to be called.

I had received physical
therapy treatment from a different facility years ago and
when my ongoing back problems made it difficult for me to
walk, sit, stand or enjoy doing normal activities, my Mom
suggested I get a referral to see Rick at Optimum
Performance Physical therapy. She had been a patient of his
some months earlier and was very pleased with her treatment
and recovery.
The staff is knowledgeable,
caring and are good listeners. In explaining my back
problems to the staff, I felt and saw their focus was on
what I was saying. I found that their answer easy to
understand and although the treatment & exercises may have
been uncomfortable, and yes, at times a little bit painful,
it worked. Since the time I began going to OPPT, I have been
in two car accidents and this was the first place I turned
for help. My family and I are so confident in Rick and his
staff, that my daughter, brother and niece have also been
